The term “millet’ is often used loosely to refer to several types of small seeded annual grasses. Millets share a set of characteristics which make them unique amongst cereals. They belong to five genera, namely Panicum, Setaria, Echinochola, Pennisetum, Paspalum, and Eleusine.
